Online lecture from Gani Uzbekov on the topic “Major Challenges the Kazakh Fintechs Face Today and How to Overcome Them” Mr. Uzbekov has over twenty years of experience in finance and international development.
After winning two consecutive scholarships and graduating from the London School of Economics in 2000 and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government in 2003, Mr. Uzbekov was appointed Deputy Minister of Finance. In 2006 – 2008 Mr. Uzbekov served as Deputy Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Kazakh Agency on Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and Financial Organizations (FSA). Prior joining the private sector, Mr. Uzbekov has been serving as the Deputy Chairman of Kazyna, Kazakh Sovereign Wealth Fund. Mr. Uzbekov has now built a new digital payment platform, S1LKPAY, based on the certified inhouse payment’s processor with all the credit and debit card payment solutions (including issuance) to support and process mobile and online money transactions, including alternative methods, to act as a fully-equipped finance management tool for any business and to fill in the existing gaps left by complex service providers of payment solutions. The digital prepaid platform helps unbanked and underbanked population get a prepaid card instantly and enjoy basic financial rights.
S1LKPAY is a DIFC and AIFC based fintech startup and he has recently raised 1,225,000 USD to launch his solution in MENA and SEA within the next 12 months.
